LGBTQ in Leeds
Leeds Pride, a vibrant celebration of LGBT+ culture, occurs annually in August, marking Yorkshire’s largest Pride gathering, open to all without charge.
The Angels of Freedom, a grassroots initiative driven by volunteers, receives backing from Leeds City Council, British Transport Police, and West Yorkshire Police. They aim to offer visible support to the LGBTQ+ community, particularly in the Freedom Quarter of Leeds, each Friday evening. Their volunteers engage in supportive conversations, share information about support networks and social activities in Leeds, and warmly welcome individuals seeking conversation within the city’s bar scene. Their LGBTQ+ Coffee and Cake Cafe, a regular fixture, provides a relaxed setting for mingling, board games, indulging in delicious treats, or simply connecting with fellow attendees.
